cocabona is a Finnish artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Helsinki, Finland. Drawing on influences from jazz, hip hop, and R&B, his sound blends organic instrumentation with contemporary beatmaking, creating a distinctive, genre-fluid sonic identity.
After spending three formative years living in Amsterdam and Rotterdam, cocabona developed a deeply international perspective that continues to shape his music and collaborations today. During that time, he also performed across the Netherlands alongside artists such as Glimlip, Yasper, Peter Somuah and JELISA, further immersing himself in the local jazz and beat scenes.
To date, his work has amassed over 100 million streams across platforms, driven by strong editorial playlist placements and tastemaker support from names like Jamz Supernova (BBC Radio 1Xtra). His solo releases have appeared on labels including Chillhop Music, Lofi Girl, PLYGRND and Sundae Sauuce, positioning him as a key contributor in the global beat and lo-fi scenes.
Beyond his solo catalog, cocabona’s versatility shines through collaborations and co-productions in the R&B and alternative soul space. In addition to working with artists like Jordan Astra, GINGE, Oddisee, J.Lamotta, Jesse Markin, and Kaisha, cocabona maintains a long-standing creative partnership with Finnish producer-artist Misha. Together, they have co-produced a wide range of releases blending live instrumentation with progressive production. As the bassist in Misha’s live band, cocabona has performed with him in London, Los Angeles, Berlin, Amsterdam and Helsinki – experiences that continue to influence his own work. Most recently, cocabona played bass on Misha’s official remix of GRAMMY-winner Lalah Hathaway, set for release in July 2025.
